About me

A picture of Thijs van der Woude at the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix.

My name is Thijs van der Woude. I’m 23 years old and I offer business technology services with over 6 years of experience.

My favorite thing to do is help my clients get to that elusive next level. I’m always trying out new and alternative technologies to get that competitive edge for myself and my clients. No mountain too high, no distance too far, no stone left unturned.

In my spare time, I like going to the gym, repurposing e-waste and going out for walks with my dogs. Above all, I love tinkering with my cars and then roadtripping them.

I mainly work with WordPress, Magento 2, Rocky Linux and FreeBSD. I have an unusual skill-set, so I end up with unusual projects. My understanding of websites and the web spans from top to bottom, from server hardware to browser quirks. The focus lies on implementing secure and performant technologies in support of your business goals. Tailored solutions for your problems, improving conversion, performance and security, store development, custom extensions, fitting integrations. All that and more is possible. Want to know more? You can fill in the contact form below and I’ll get in touch in a timely manner.

Testimonials

After failing to get our cryptocurrency project working for over 2 years, I decided enough was enough and got outside help in the form of Thijs. It soon became clear that his knowledge of servers and applications outclassed anyone else in the community I had spoken to. Coming from nothing like Thijs, Cardano stakepools are not easy projects to understand, even harder to get running when it’s a mess like ours was and he excelled at both.

I have over 6 years of high-level experience working in this field. I work with WordPress, WooCommerce and Symfony-based systems like Magento 2. I also have extensive experience with Rocky Linux, FreeBSD and TrueNAS.

I’m not a factory. I do not sell generic packages, meaning that everything I do is tailor made and perfectly matches or exceeds your expectations and ambitions.

My approach to work varies depending on the needs of each project or client. However, I generally follow the Toyota Way and Lean Development to ensure that I deliver high-quality work that perfectly matches or exceeds my clients’ expectations.

There are knowledge bases that I maintain that apply to a particular platform. That way you are mostly self sufficient.

I also give advice on what to do and what not to do, i.e. ROI of a new feature, upgrading/downgrading hosting, etc.

Firstly, do not hesitate to contact me using the form below. That’s the way new clients get in contact with me.

If you have an existing website/infrastructure I have to do an initial analysis. This helps me identify the low hanging fruit and their solutions. I’ll create a plan and roadmap, so that when the project begins there is much less chance for surprises or setbacks.

If you do not already have a website/infrastructure, I will identify your (corporate) identity, orientate on your particular profession or sector and bring conceptual ideas to the table.

We go from there.

What sets me apart from competitors is personal service and terrific consistency. It’s me picking up the phone, it’s me ensuring quality and it’s me double checking. You are also circumventing additional cost, because there’s no management layer.

I became a freelancer because I cherish my freedom, I love the flexibility it gives you and me both. I can adjust my schedule and workload to meet your needs.

I pick my projects for more than just money. My name is attached to my work. It stands to speak for me personally.
